Fall 2008 Fundraiser - WE HAVE A WINNER!!
The Sissonville Soccer Association would like to congratulate Darlene Kestner of Alum Creek for being the winner of our Fall raffle for the Remington 700 BDL (Bolt Action) Rifle. A big thanks to everyone who bought and sold tickets, the fundraiser was a big success!!
**FALL GAME SCEDULES**
The Fall 2008 game schedules are posted on the left menu. These were updated on 9/3/08. The changes effect only the U9-West, U9G, U10-West & U10G schedules, so please double check your schedule if you are one of these groups.

In case of bad weather, coaches check out PROCEDURES for cancelling games and a couple of Associations have Field HOTLINES for field status.
Soccer Equipment Needs
What equipment will my soccer player need? Players will need cleats (NO toe cleats allowed), shin-guards and a soccer ball. This year, instead of only jerseys, all players (except for the U4s) will receive a uniform kit. This will include a jersey, shorts and socks. Soccer ball sizes are as follows: Size 3 = U4 thru U6; Size 4 = U7 thru 12; Size 5 = U13 and up.

Mandatory Coaches meeting - July 26 (10:30am, Library)
Teams Due to KVSL - August 5
Scheduling Meeting - August 14
Practice Starts - Week of August 18
First Game - September 6
Last Game - October 25

REFEREES
The Sissonville Soccer Association is in need of referees. You must be 12 years old to become a referee. If interested, please contact Dennis Carney at dcarney@ntelos.net AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
**Sissonville Soccer Assocation BOARD **
The Sissonville Soccer Association hold its monthly board meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm at the Sissonville High School. New members needed and visitors welcome. Please join us and help us make the SSA the best we can be for the children!!
Soccer for 3yr olds
The SSA has a developmental team available for 3yr olds. This team is a U4 team and does NOT travel to play games. They usually practice once a week at the Sissonville soccer fields. The players do receive a Sissonville soccer jersey as part of their registration fee. To be eligible for the U4 team in the FALL of 2008, the child's birthday must fall between August 1, 2004 and July 31, 2005. Any questions please email president@sissonvillesoccerassociation.org. You can check our AGE MATRIX for the 2008/2009 seasons to make sure what age group your child will be in.
West Virginia Chaos!!!
Make sure you go see the WV Chaos play this season. WV's own semi-pro soccer team. Their games run from mid-May thru mid-July. Click here for their schedule. And go visit their website for all the latest news and information WV Chaos

AND for EVERYONE...did you ever have a soccer rule/regulation question you needed answered. Send us your questions by clicking on the spinning mailbox on the left and the REF Coordinator will answer it. We'll post both the Q&A on the website for everyone's benefit. So throw us your toughest questions..Denny can handle it!!!

CLEATS, CLEATS, CLEATS
The SSA has cleats that were donated/given to us by parents (you know how fast those feet grow!). So we have cleats to share!! If you need a pair of cleats, please email tinaperdue@verizon.net or call 984-2944. Or if you have cleats you would like to donate.
Here are the sizes we have: 11, 12, 13 1/2, 1, 1 1/2, 3 1/2, 5(pink) (more than 1 pair of some sizes) First come, first serve.

The Sissonville Soccer Association would like to say a big THANK YOU to the following, for the repair of the soccer building at the upper field: to Charlie Perdue (SSA coach and parent) for figuring out the supplies needed and picking them up, working on the building, painting it and for rounding up volunteers to help, including Bryan Petry (SSA parent) and Greg Pennington & Brad Osborne (these guys don’t even live in Sissonville just volunteered as a favor to Charlie); and to Kevin Legg for donating the shingles for the roof.
